Roadford Lake Triathlon, live.

A rare swim in Roadford Lake, then quiet Devon lanes

The Roadford Lake Triathlon is held on Sunday 16 May 2027 at Roadford Lake near Lifton, with Middle, Standard and Sprint distances.

Sportiva Events stages the race at Roadford Lake, a superb swimming venue where swimming is not normally permitted. The bike uses quiet rolling local roads, and the run is mainly on gravel paths. Lakeside camping and camper van parking are about one mile from transition and are booked separately.

The Middle distance is a 1.9K swim over two and a half laps, a 93K bike over two laps and a 20K run over four laps, for athletes 18 or over by 31 December. The Standard is a 1500m swim in two laps, a 46km bike in one lap and a 10K run in two laps. The Sprint is a 750m swim, a 20K bike and a 5K run, one lap each, from age 15. Team relays are available for the Sprint and Standard, with each team member normally taking one discipline.

The Middle starts at 7:30am with a 3:30pm cut-off, the Standard at 8:30am with a 1:30pm cut-off and the Sprint at 9:15am with a midday cut-off. Registration opens on race morning or on Saturday afternoon from 4 to 5pm. The race holds a British Triathlon permit, and entry includes a swim hat, a personalised race number and numbered racking in a secure transition.

The weekend also has open water swims and trail races at the lake on Saturday 15 May, and aquabike and aquathlon races on Sunday. There is plenty of parking at the cafe, and anyone camping at the Activity Centre on Saturday night is asked to walk or cycle to the start.

On Livebib you can follow an athlete live when they choose to share their own position from the phone they carry on the bike and run. It is their own position, not the organiser's timing system, and official results come from the organiser.
