Calango Infernal 8K

Calango is a town in the low Andes of Lima, in the province of Cañete, known for steep hills and a heat that does not forgive. The terrain is arid hills, extreme slopes and dry earth up to 900 m, with a descent that asks for everything a runner has left. The organiser has not yet published the start time or the climbing for the 8K.

The organiser pitches the short distance at people who walk, trek or run on the track and have never raced in the hills, and runs a Mi Primer Trail workshop for them before the season. It is open from 14, with a parent’s consent under 18. Beyond the bib, the only mandatory kit is an ID document, a phone and a 500 ml container, because the aid points hand out no cups or bottles. Poles are not allowed in the first 2 km. Runners must be at the start line 30 minutes before their gun, and nobody may start more than 10 minutes late.
