Calango Infernal 33K
Calango is a town in the low Andes of Lima, in the province of Cañete, known for steep hills and a heat that does not forgive. The terrain is arid hills, extreme slopes and dry earth up to 900 m, with a descent that asks for everything a runner has left. The 33K is the one distance the organiser gives a climbing figure for, up to 1,806 m, and it has not published the start time yet.
The longest distance is for runners over 18 who train in the hills and want to race for real and score championship points. Mandatory kit is the bib, an ID document, an emergency blanket of at least 100 by 200 cm, a phone with credit and battery, 1.5 litres of water, a windbreaker, a red rear light for the stretch in the dark, food worth 200 calories and a cap or bandana. The aid points hand out no cups or bottles. Poles are not allowed in the first 2 km. Runners must be at the start line 30 minutes before their gun, and nobody may start more than 10 minutes late.
This page covers the Calango Infernal 33K 2027. On Livebib, family and friends see the runner’s position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. If the phone loses its signal in the hills, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated.
