From the Eiffel Tower to the gates of Versailles

The 48th Paris-Versailles runs 16.2 km from the foot of the Eiffel Tower to the Château de Versailles on Sunday 26 September 2027.

Paris-Versailles, known as La Grande Classique, is a road race from the foot of the Eiffel Tower to the Château de Versailles. The 48th edition is on Sunday 26 September 2027, after a 47th edition in 2026 that counted 23,340 finishers. It is organised by Paris-Versailles Association, founded in 1979 and given its current name in 1991.

The start is on the Quai Jacques Chirac at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. The route follows the Seine past the Quai de Grenelle and the Pont du Garigliano to Issy-les-Moulineaux, then climbs the Côte des Gardes in Meudon at km 6. From km 8 to 10 the race follows the Route Royale through the forest, continues through Vélizy and Viroflay and finishes on the Avenue de Paris, facing the château, after 16.2 km. The organiser says the course is unchanged for regulars.

With the Côte des Gardes early on and the forest roads that follow, this is a race to pace with care rather than a flat sprint. It works well for people stepping up from 10 km, for groups of colleagues and friends, and for experienced runners who like a course with some character. Water is available along the route and at the finish.

RER C links the start and the finish, from Pont de l'Alma in Paris to Versailles Château. After the line, large markers named after European cities serve as meeting points, so supporters can agree in advance where to wait.
