Full distance racing on the Regatta Lake

Outlaw Original is the full distance triathlon of the Outlaw series, raced at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham on Sunday 25 July 2027.

Outlaw races are organised by a team of former athletes, and the series has been named Event of the Year by 220 Triathlon several times. The Nottingham weekend on 24 and 25 July has a sprint on Saturday and the Original, the Outlaw Middle and an aquabike on Sunday, all ending on the orange carpet in front of the grandstand.

The Original starts at 6:00am with a mass start in the Regatta Lake for a 2.4 mile out and back swim. The 112 mile bike follows a relatively flat route into the Nottinghamshire countryside and returns past Holme Pierrepont Hall. The 26.2 mile run is three large laps on the towpath of the River Trent, turning at Lady Bay Bridge and passing the white water course, then a final lap of the Regatta Lake. A fireworks display brings home the last finisher.

The Outlaw Middle starts at 6:30am with a time trial start and covers 1.2 miles, 56 miles and 13.1 miles on a flat, three lap run. The Saturday sprint is 750 m, a traffic free 20 km bike of four laps inside the park and a single 5 km lap of the lake, with a later New To Tri wave for beginners.

The course is famously fast and flat, which suits a first full distance as well as a personal best. Supporters can join their athlete on the orange carpet for the final metres, and the event village overlooks the finish.

If a participant chooses to share their live position from the phone they carry, you can follow them on Livebib from start to finish. This is the athlete's own sharing and separate from the organiser's timing, so the official results always come from the organiser.
