ÖTILLÖ Colorado World Series
This page belongs to the 2026 World Series race at ÖTILLÖ Colorado. The organiser gives 36,548 m in all: 8,045 m of swimming over seven swims in Horsetooth Reservoir and 28,388 m of running over eight runs on the trails of Lory State Park, with 605 m of climbing. Swimming makes up about a fifth of the distance. All of it is above 5,000 feet, which the organiser notes makes this the only high-altitude race in the US series.
All three races start together at 07:00, with parking from 05:30 and the anthem at 06:50. The cutoffs are the same for every distance: 13:00 at Time Checks 3 and 5, before the last long run, after which late athletes are redirected to the finish, and 15:00 at the finish line, when the race ends. Athletes bring their own wetsuit, whistle, compression bandage and tether; the race provides cap, bib and a foldable cup. It suits experienced swimrunners who can hold their pace through fifteen legs at altitude.
Six hours to the time check is a long wait at the finish. On Livebib the athlete shares a link to their own broadcast; family open it in a browser and see the position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate that updates at each leg, which also shows whether the 13:00 check is getting close. When the phone loses its fix during a swim, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated.
