ÖTILLÖ Colorado Sprint

This page belongs to the 2026 Sprint at ÖTILLÖ Colorado. The organiser gives 17,703 m in all: 4,699 m of swimming over five swims in Horsetooth Reservoir and 13,357 m of running over six runs in Lory State Park, with 289 m of climbing. Swimming is about a fifth of the course. The reservoir and the park sit close together, so the transitions between water and trail are short, and the whole course lies above 5,000 feet.

The Sprint starts with the other distances at 07:00. The cutoffs are shared: 13:00 at Time Checks 3 and 5, after which athletes are redirected to the finish, and 15:00 at the finish line. Packet pickup is mandatory on Saturday 3 October, 14:00 to 16:00, at the Visit Fort Collins Welcome Center in Old Town. Athletes bring a wetsuit, whistle, compression bandage and tether. It suits an athlete who has done a short swimrun and wants a step up, with altitude as the added variable.

Eleven legs, five of them in the water, are hard to follow from the shore. On Livebib the athlete shares a link to their own broadcast; it opens in any browser with no app and shows the position on the course line, distance covered and an updating finish estimate. If the phone loses its fix in the reservoir, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated.
