Point to point mountain biking from Negaunee to Marquette

Ore to Shore is Michigan's largest mass start point to point mountain bike event, with races from Negaunee to Marquette and a family program around Lakeview Arena.

All Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic races are on Saturday 14 August 2027 in Marquette County, using Marquette, Negaunee and Ishpeming. Registration for 2027 opens on 1 January 2027, and the field is limited to 2,500.

The 48 mile Hard Rock starts at 10:00 am from Iron Street in downtown Negaunee. The 28 mile Soft Rock starts at 9:00 am from Lakeview Elementary School in Negaunee. The 10 mile Shore Rock starts at 8:00 am from Lakeview Arena in Marquette, where every race finishes. The organiser describes them as true cross country courses, with hills to climb, descents, fast flat sections, mud, sand, water and exposed rock.

Aid stations serve both long races, and there are cut-off times at the North Road aid station, about 21 miles into the Hard Rock, and at the Forestville Road aid station. The course crosses the land of more than 60 landowners on a one day permit, so the private sections are open to riders on race day only. Children have their own races in the afternoon: the 4 mile Junior Rock, the 1 mile Little Rock and the 50 yard Littlest Rock.

Lakeview Arena in Marquette is the hub for spectators, with the finish line, the awards ceremony at 2:00 pm, music and a beer tent. Buses run from the finish to both starts during the afternoon.
