A women's marathon that starts and ends in the dome

The Nagoya Women's Marathon is a women only marathon in which both the start and the finish are inside Vantelin Dome Nagoya.

The 2027 edition is on Sunday 14 March, with the start at 9:10. The race is open to women aged 19 or older on race day and has a time limit of 7 hours, with the finish closing at 16:10. It is also part of the Marathon Grand Championship Series as a women's G1 race and a Japan national team selection race for the 2027 World Athletics Championships in Beijing and the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

The course is 42.195 km through central Nagoya. Twice, just after 19 km and again after 36 km, it runs along Sakura-dori beside the Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER. Nagoya Castle comes into view around 26 km, and between 27 and 28 km the route passes the Aichi Prefectural Government Office and Nagoya City Hall, both Important Cultural Properties of Japan, and the IG Arena, completed in 2025.

It is known as a friendly first marathon: the organisers report a finish rate of 96.6 percent in 2026. The general lottery has 5,500 places and the overseas category has 3,500, and bibs are collected at the dome on Friday 12 March from 12:00 to 20:30 and Saturday 13 March from 10:00 to 19:30.

Spectators can watch the Sakura-dori passages twice, and the area around the castle and the dome are the obvious places for a second look.
