Marcona Wind Trail 42K

The 42K has three control points: the start, a turnaround point and the finish, so the course goes out along the coast and comes back. The one time barrier is at km 21 at 11:00, four hours after the start. Three hydration points stand on the course and a fourth at the finish, and as on every Marcona course there are no cups, so a hydration system is mandatory.

The ground is the coast at its most varied: the shoreline where the geography allows, the path above the beach with the best view of the rock formations, and the climb to the dunes and the wind turbines. Food has to be carried out of its wrapper in a zip bag, a rule the organiser enforces with disqualification. The 42K is ITRA certified and gives ITRA points.
