Marcona Wind Trail 35K Nocturno

Runners meet in front of the Marcona municipality at 01:00 and the organiser drives them to the start, an hour after the 100K has left from the same place. A working headlamp with charged batteries is mandatory, and so is a hydration system, because the hydration points hand out no cups. There are two hydration points on the course and one at the finish, and four control points: the start, two on the way and the finish.

The 35K has no time barrier. The course follows the coast on its two levels, by the water and above the beach, through sand, earth and rock and under the rock cathedrals the wind has shaped, with the dunes and the turbines of the wind farm on the way. In the dark, the flags and arrows the organiser lays out are what keep runners on the line.
