Marcona Wind Trail 21K

It is the one Marcona course that runs point to point from the turbines to the sea. Runners gather at Playa Los Leones at 06:30 and the organiser drives them to the start. Every 21K runner must carry a physical DNI on race day: it is collected to enter the Tres Hermanas wind farm and handed back at the finish at Playa Los Leones.

From the wind farm, the course comes down through the dunes to the coast, over sand, earth and rock, among the wind-carved formations that give the race its character. There is one hydration point on the way and another at the finish, and no cups at either, so a hydration system is mandatory. Control points stand at the start and the finish, and there is no time barrier. The 21K is ITRA certified.
