Forty-five kilometres of the classic Marcialonga course, in classic technique, from Moena through Soraga and Pozza and down the valley to Predazzo. It is the same track, the same villages and the same crowd as the seventy — it simply stops before the long run through Fiemme and the Cascata wall at the end.

For a lot of skiers the Light is the way into the race: long enough to be a real ski marathon, short enough to be done in a morning.
