Abalone Marathon de Nantes, live.

Through the heart of Nantes and across the Erdre

The 45th Abalone Marathon de Nantes fills the weekend of 24 and 25 April 2027 with a marathon, a half marathon and a 10 km night race.

The Marathon de Nantes is one of the oldest marathons in France. It was created in 1981 by the athletics section of the Nantes Etudiants Club, with 104 participants at the first edition, and in 2024 more than 18,700 people took part across all the races. It is co organised by the association Courir à Nantes and OC Sport, and the 45th edition takes place on 24 and 25 April 2027.

The marathon starts on Sunday 25 April at 09:15 under the Nefs of Les Machines de l'Île. Since 2016 the course has stayed in the city centre, past the Place Graslin and the Place Royale, the Parc de Procé, the Jardin des Plantes, the Île de Versailles and the banks of the Erdre. Near the end, La Traversante, a floating pontoon 324 m long, carries the race across the Erdre before the finish at the Parc des Expositions de La Beaujoire. The marathon carries the FFA silver label and is limited to 7,000 entrants.

The half marathon (21.097 km) starts at 08:00 on Sunday from the same place and also crosses the Erdre on La Traversante. On Saturday 24 April at 21:30, Les Foulées de l'Éléphant offer 10 km at night, starting and finishing at Les Machines de l'Île, already full for 2027. A marathon relay for company teams of four runs with the marathon.

Supporters will find about twenty music stages along the route, and the old town between the Château des ducs de Bretagne and the Cathedral is an easy place to watch.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, so the dot on the map is only as good as that phone and its signal. Official results and splits come from the organiser.
