Zurich Rock 'n' Roll Running Series Madrid, live.

Madrid's spring marathon and half marathon on the same morning

The Zurich Rock 'n' Roll Running Series Madrid is the capital's big spring race day, with a marathon and a half marathon through the streets of the city centre.

The 2027 edition is on Sunday 25 April 2027. It is organised by the Asociación Deportiva MAPOMA together with Elipse Iniciativas, and offers two distances on the same morning: the marathon over 42.195 km and the half marathon over 21.097 km. Both run on a completely urban circuit through what the organiser calls the most beautiful streets of the capital.

Demand is high. The organiser reports a record day in 2026 with 47,000 runners on the streets of Madrid, and more than 8,000 people were left without a bib. That led to a new registration system for 2027, and 18,570 people signed up in the first phase, which was reserved for the previous year's participants.

Wave start times for the 2027 edition have not been published yet, apart from the wheelchair and handbike start at 8:30. The half marathon has a limit of three hours from the start of the last wave. The course map, a 3D view of the 2027 route and GPX files are on the race website, and they are worth studying before you decide how to pace the day.

The organiser calls it the country's biggest running party, with a beautiful, touristic route through the heart of the city and thousands of spectators who take to the streets that day to cheer the runners on and share in the celebration.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the race organiser.
