Radiance Mutuelle Lyon Urban Trail, live.

Stairs, hills and hidden parks of Lyon

The 19th Lyon Urban Trail takes place on 3 and 4 April 2027, with four running races from Quai Fulchiron on Sunday 4 April.

Urban trail was born in Lyon in 2007, when the team at Extra Sports used the stairs of the Croix-Rousse for hill training and imagined a real trail course through the city. The first edition, in November 2008, drew 2,000 people. Today the Radiance Mutuelle Lyon Urban Trail counts 13,000 participants and 600 volunteers, and the 19th edition is on 3 and 4 April 2027. Registration opens on 12 November 2026.

All races start on Quai Fulchiron on Sunday 4 April. The 35 km at 07:00 has about 1,400 m of climbing and reaches into three towns, Lyon, Caluire-et-Cuire and Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, with some 6,000 steps and about twenty little known parks. The 25 km at 09:00 (1,100 m) concentrates on the hills of Fourvière and the Croix-Rousse. The 18 km at 11:30 (700 m) is a lighter or faster version, and the 12 km at 13:30 (450 m) is the introduction. A 12 km walking route completes the programme.

This is real trail in a city setting. Compulsory kit includes a 0.5 litre water system, food, a rain jacket, a whistle and a survival blanket, and there are no cups at the refreshment points. The courses close at 17:00. Highlights include crossing the Hôtel de Ville and the Roman site of Fourvière.

For spectators the stairways and viewpoints of Fourvière and the Croix-Rousse are the places to watch, all within walking distance of the centre.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, so the dot on the map is only as good as that phone and its signal. Official results and splits come from the organiser.
