Long-distance triathlon from Derwentwater to Keswick

The Lakesman Full and Lakesman Half return to Keswick in the Lake District on Sunday 20 June 2027.

Lakesman Triathlons has delivered races in Keswick since 2016, and for 2027 the full distance returns alongside the Half. Both races share one Lake District course built around a swim in Derwentwater, a ride through the western Lake District and a run into Keswick.

The Lakesman Full is a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run. The Lakesman Half is a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile bike and a 13.1 mile run. Teams of 2 to 3 can share either distance as a relay, and there are Swim and Bike or Bike and Run options for both the Full and the Half.

The swim is in the clear water of Derwentwater, one of the Lake District's most scenic lakes. The bike takes scenic roads through the western Lake District, a side of the lakes the organiser says few tourists ever see. The run is fast and supported, with views to Skiddaw and a route made for spectators, and it ends at Keswick Rugby Club.

The Full is the complete long-distance challenge, while the Half, relays and split formats offer other ways in. The organiser says 97% of athletes would race again and recommend it. Entry is secured with a £75 deposit, with the balance paid in stages. Supporters should head for the run route and the finish line at Keswick Rugby Club.

On Livebib you can follow an athlete live when they choose to share their own position from the phone they carry on the bike and run. It is their own position, not the organiser's timing system, and official results come from the organiser.
