Aime and La Plagne, Savoie · July 29, 2027
From the apple trees of Aime to the Bellecôte glacier
The 37th edition of La 6000D runs from Thursday 29 to Saturday 31 July 2027 in the Tarentaise valley, with the 69 km main race on Saturday 31 July.
La 6000D is a mountain trail race in Savoie that has been held in the Tarentaise for 37 years. Its idea is simple and hard: climb from the apple trees of Aime in the valley to the glacier, and come back down. Today the event offers several races so that people of every level find a distance.
La 6000D itself covers 69 km with 3,400 m of climbing. It starts in Aime on Saturday 31 July 2027 at 04:30 in waves of 500, climbs through the resorts of La Grande Plagne to the top of the Bellecôte glacier at 3,080 m, then descends through the forest to Montchavin Les Coches and finishes along the Isère. About 95 percent is on paths and trails, with only five food stations and two water points, so self sufficiency is advised. It can also be run as a relay of three, with changeovers at Plagne Centre and Plagne Bellecôte.
La 6D Marathon, 43 km with 2,100 m of climbing, also starts in Aime on Saturday at 08:15. La 6D Lacs (30 km, 1,500 m) starts at Plagne Bellecôte on Friday 30 July at 08:00, and La 6D Crêtes (21 km, 1,300 m) at Plagne Centre on Thursday 29 July at 08:00. Shorter races and a kids' race complete the programme. Because of works for the 2030 Olympics, the course no longer uses the bobsleigh track.
For supporters, the Plagne Bellecôte gondola runs to Roche de Mio, the Col de la Chiaupe and Live 3000 at 3,050 m, a fine place to see the leaders high on the mountain.
On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, so the dot on the map is only as good as that phone and its signal. Official results and splits come from the organiser.
