A stage race in the Serra da Canastra

KTR Ultra Canastra is a trail running stage race in the Serra da Canastra near Delfinópolis, Minas Gerais, where participants stay in a camp between days.

The 2027 edition runs from 20 to 22 May and is organised by XKR Sports. Instead of a single long day, the distance is split over the event, and participants sleep in the race camp, which gives the weekend the feel of a small expedition.

There are three totals to choose from: 25 km, 50 km and 100 km. Check the organiser's programme for how each total is spread over the days. Each choice keeps the same setting in the Serra da Canastra, so a newer trail runner and an experienced ultra runner can share the camp and the landscape.

The 25 km suits people who want to try a stage race without a big weekly volume. The 50 km asks for regular trail training, and the 100 km is for those who already know how their body handles hard days in a row.

Because this is a camp format, friends and family should check with the organiser what access there is to the race area. Most of the story of each day will be told at the camp, where participants finish and recover.

On Livebib you can follow a participant live when that person chooses to share their own position from the phone they carry during the race. The dot on the map comes from the participant's phone, not from the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
