IRONMAN 70.3 Buenos Aires Palermo, live.

A middle distance in the middle of the city

IRONMAN 70.3 Buenos Aires Palermo is 113 km of swim, bike and run that never leaves the city: a lake in Palermo, a highway circuit and a half marathon in the park streets around them.

The organiser describes three legs built on loops. The swim is 1.9 km in two laps of Lago de Regatas, in the heart of Palermo, which it calls calm, warm and spectator-friendly. The bike is three laps of a flat circuit on a Buenos Aires highway, and the run is 21.1 km on Palermo’s gently undulating streets and paths, finishing back in the neighbourhood. The organiser rates the conditions as lake swim, rolling bike and flat run, with an average high of 22 °C, a low of 15 °C and water around 23 °C.

The latest edition in our catalogue was raced on 4 October 2026. The organiser’s page now shows the next edition as to be announced, with registration opening soon, so check the official race page for the 2027 date before booking anything. The race sits minutes from the city centre and its airports, and for anyone coming to watch, the swim lake, the bike circuit and the run course are all close together.

Loops make a race easy to watch and hard to read: by the third bike lap nobody on the roadside knows which lap their athlete is on. On Livebib the athlete shares a link with whoever they choose, and family and friends open it in a browser, no app and no account, to see the position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. Anything estimated is marked as estimated, and if the phone loses its fix the position is carried forward along the course instead of freezing.
