The most beautiful challenge in Sørlandet

Hove Tri is a triathlon at Hove in Arendal on Saturday 12 June 2027, where the Norwegian championship in standard distance is also decided.

The race is organised by Arendal Triathlon, a club founded in 2007, and calls itself the most beautiful challenge in Sørlandet. It was first held in 2009, when 275 athletes started, and more than 200 volunteers now help make the day happen. Hove has hosted the Norwegian championships before, in 2014, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2025, and in 2027 it hosts the championship over the normal distance.

The long course is the longest distance at Hove: 1600 m of swimming, 39 km on the bike and 10 km of running. The short course, 500 m, 21 km and 5 km, is meant for those who want to try triathlon for the first time, or to try to beat their own time.

Young athletes aged 13 to 16 race a supersprint of 375 m, 10 km and 2.5 km, and the youngest, aged 5 to 12, have Hove Trilek, which is free to enter and all about having fun. The organisers want the day to bring the joy of sport to everyone, whether you are 8, 18 or 80.

According to the tentative programme the long course, championship included, starts at 08:30, the short course from 11:15, the youth supersprint at 13:15 and Hove Trilek from 15:00. The swim is in the salt water of Hovekilen, and a partner publishes live water temperature from the course so athletes can prepare. Entry opens in November.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry during the race. That is the athlete's own sharing and not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the organiser.
