A sea level marathon in Florianópolis

The Maratona Internacional de Floripa is a road running weekend in Florianópolis with a marathon, a half marathon and a 5K.

The 2027 edition is planned for 28 and 29 August. The organiser, Grupo STC, offers three distances over the weekend: the 42K marathon, the 21K half marathon and a 5K. Check the official programme for which distance runs on which day.

The organiser describes the course as 80 percent flat and at sea level, using Avenida Beira-Mar Norte and the Via Expressa Sul. That makes it a good choice for people chasing a personal best as well as for those taking on their first marathon or half marathon in a city setting.

The 5K is the easy way in for families, friends and newer participants who want to be part of the weekend without a long distance.

Spectators have the advantage of a course along the water, where it is easy to move between viewing spots. Arrive early on race morning and check the organiser's programme for times.
