A sprint swimrun on the cliffs of Femöre

Femöre Swimrun is an 11 km sprint along the coast reserve at Femöre in Oxelösund on Sunday 4 July 2027, open to teams and solo racers.

Femöre Swimrun is run by three local clubs together: OK Hällen, Nyköpings Kanotklubb and SLK Oxelösund, people who know swimrun, trail running, orienteering, paddling and triathlon. The race is based at Skärgårdsvåfflan and Boda Camp on Femöre, a coastal reserve of cliffs, pine heath and views over the Baltic Sea, and it has results from 2025 and 2026 behind it.

There is one course, a sprint of about 11 km: roughly 9.2 km of running and 1.8 km of swimming. The swimming comes in 12 legs of 25 to 300 m, and the running in 13 legs, the longest about 1.8 km. That rhythm means many entries and exits and very little time to settle, which is what makes a short swimrun hard work.

The running is technical trail and cliff running through forest and over rock, with a real coastal feel. The swims go both through sheltered bays and out on open sea. The course is marked with orange flags and arrows, red and white tape at critical points and yellow markers at the swim exits, and safety boats and paddlers are on the water. The organisers call it a family-style race with a strong community, perfect for beginners and experienced swimrunners alike.

Registration opens ahead of the 2027 race, and the organisers publish a race memo with the rules and practical details before the start. Friends and family can watch at the race arena, where the start and finish are, and from the cliffs along the course, where the organisers point out good spots to see teams swim and run.
