An individual start race on gravel and trail
Skanneloppet is an individual start running race organised by IS Skanne in Åstorp, with three courses on gravel roads, asphalt and trail paths.
Skanneloppet is the running race IS Skanne holds in Åstorp every November, and on Saturday 7 November 2026 it reaches its 61st edition. It is an individual start race. About ten participants set off every minute, so the field spreads out from the first step. The club describes three courses for young and old, elite and exercise.
The 3,9 km course runs on gravel roads and trail paths. The other courses are mostly on gravel roads, with some asphalt and trail paths as well. The organiser says the courses are hilly, especially at the start. The club's map shows the start and finish at the same place, with drink stations along the way.
There are three distances. The 17,3 km course has the elite and several veteran classes, the 7,6 km course has junior and senior classes, and the 3,9 km course has the youngest and oldest classes. Each distance also has an exercise class. Competition classes require membership of a club affiliated with the Swedish athletics federation or a corresponding national body.
The race centre is Tingvalla on Vramsvägen 9 in Åstorp, where bibs can be collected from 08.00. Starts run from 10.00 to about 11.05, and prize giving begins after about 11.45 as classes finish. Hamburgers and light refreshments are on sale. A person taking part can choose to share their own live position on Livebib from their phone, so family and friends can follow from home. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from IS Skanne.
