Cluses to Les Saisies, 154 km on a Tour de France stage
L'Étape du Tour lets amateur cyclists ride a full mountain stage of the Tour de France, and in 2027 it crosses the northern French Alps.
The 2027 Étape du Tour is the 35th edition and takes place on Sunday 11 July 2027. The route starts in Cluses in Haute-Savoie and finishes at Les Saisies in Savoie, on the roads the Tour de France will race.
The stage is 154 km long with 4,850 m of climbing and five major climbs. The Col de la Colombière comes early, 15.9 km at 7 percent. The route then crosses the Aravis range and climbs the Col du Pré near Lake Roselend. The last major climb before the finish is Bisanne, 12.4 km at 8.3 percent, before the road rises to Les Saisies.
The organiser warns that riders need to save some energy for the final stretch, because Bisanne, the last major challenge, comes late in the day before the high altitude finish.
The roads are entirely closed to traffic, which the organiser says makes it the only cyclosportive of its kind, and it calls the event Europe's benchmark cyclosportive, with about 16,000 registered riders.
On Livebib you can follow a rider who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from L'Étape du Tour de France.
