This page covers the 2027 Dolomitenlauf 42 km in freestyle (skating). The race is four laps of the Dolomitenloipe, which lies at about 1,500 metres above sea level, with the Obertilliach biathlon stadium as the central point the field passes several times. It starts at 10:00 together with the 21 km field, five minutes before the Easyrace.

The long distance comes with a generous rule: anyone who stops after two laps is automatically ranked in the 21 km. That lets a skier decide about the second half in the stadium, with their legs and the weather in mind. The organiser promises “more enjoyment, fewer climbs” and publishes no ascent figure. Skiers who also want Sunday’s classic race can book both days together. Bibs are handed out on Friday from 15:00 to 17:00 and on race morning from 07:30 at the Langlauf- und Biathlonzentrum Osttirol.

Four laps mean four chances to cheer in the stadium — and three waits to guess when the skier comes round again.
