Cholmondeley Castle Triathlon and Multisport Festival, live.

Deer Park Mere and Tower Hill in rural Cheshire

The Cholmondeley Castle Triathlon and Multisport Festival takes over the castle estate in Cheshire on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 June 2027.

The castle has been home to the Cholmondeley family since the 12th century, and the Castle Race Series uses its grounds for a weekend of triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, aquathlon, swimming and running. Swims are in Deer Park Mere, and to the south of the castle the run climbs Tower Hill, the highest point of the run routes, with views of the Beeston and Peckforton Hills. A festival village with live music, food and drink, shopping and children's entertainment sits in the heart of the estate.

The Sunday triathlons are the Gauntlet, a 1.9K swim, 84K bike and 21K run, and the Olympic at 1.5K, 42K and 10.5K. On Saturday come the Sprint Plus (800M, 42K, 8K), the Sprint (750M, 28K, 5K), the Super Sprint (400M, 28K, 4K), the Starter (200M, 14K, 2.5K) and a Mixed Team Relay, alongside junior races from 9 to 16 years.

Duathletes choose the Middle (10K, 56K, 10K) or Standard (10K, 42K, 5K) on Sunday, or the Sprint (5K, 28K, 2.5K) on Saturday. There are standard and sprint aquabikes and aquathlons, a Sunday marathon, half marathon and 10K, and Saturday swims of 5K, 2.5K and 1 mile.

Start times are emailed about two weeks before, and athletes should arrive at least 1 hour 15 minutes before their start. You can ask for a specific wave when you register. Junior bike courses include draft and non draft races on tarmac, so road bikes are needed for the older age groups.

On Livebib you can follow an athlete live when they choose to share their own position from the phone they carry. That position comes from the participant, not from the organiser's timing, and official results are published by the Castle Race Series.
