A fast Baltic race with a finish on the pier

Challenge Gdańsk is a triathlon on the Baltic coast in Gdańsk on 20 June 2027, with a sea swim by Brzeźno Pier and a finish line on the pier itself.

The race is part of Challenge Family and was voted Race of the Year 2021 by Challenge Family athletes. It is known for one of the fastest bike courses in the world and a finisher zone on the beach. The race director is Adam Greczyło.

The main race is the 100 distance: 2 km of swimming, 80 km on the bike and 18 km of running. The swim is one lap off the city beach, starting on the left of Brzeźno Pier and finishing on the right. The bike course is a single flat loop of 80 km through the Żuławy Wiślane region towards Koszwały, Cedry Małe and Kiezmark. The run is four laps along the city beach and through the Ronald Reagan park, where shade gives some relief on a sunny day, before the finish on the pier.

The sprint distance, 750 m, 20 km and 5 km, offers a shorter way to race the same coastline, and there is also a women's run. Average air temperature is around 20 degrees and the sea around 17, and the flat bike loop makes this a race for fast times.

The beach and the pier are the heart of the day. The swim starts and ends beside Brzeźno Pier, the run follows the city beach, and the finish line stands on the pier itself. The organisers advise booking accommodation directly with recommended hotels for a race discount.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry during the race. That is the athlete's own sharing and not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the organiser.
