A fast February marathon by the sea in Castelló

The 17th Marató bp Castelló runs on Sunday 14 February 2027, with the 14th 10K FACSA Castelló starting just before it on the same avenue.

The race is organised by the Club d'Atletisme Running Castelló with the city's sports board, the Patronat d'Esports. It holds the World Athletics Road Race Label, first awarded for the 2021 edition, and was the first race in the province to earn it. The organiser presents it as one of the fastest marathons in Spain, and more than 800 volunteers help put it on each year.

Both races start on Avinguda Vila-Real and finish on the central walkway of the Parque Ribalta. The 10K goes first at 09:00 and the marathon follows at 09:17. The marathon covers a certified 42,195 m, marked at every kilometre, on a mostly straight urban course with sea views and stretches run in both directions, which lets supporters see participants twice. The two courses run together as far as Avinguda València before they split.

The marathon is open to anyone aged 18 or over by race day, with a limit of 5 hours 30 minutes and checkpoints along the way, for example km 10 at 1 hour 15 and km 30 at 3 hours 45. Start pens are set by accredited time. The 10K is open from age 16 and capped at 5,000 participants. Bibs are collected only at the runners' fair in the El Grau hall next to the Puerto Azahar casino, on Friday 12 February from 17:00 to 20:00 and Saturday 13 February from 10:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00.

For spectators, the start on Avinguda Vila-Real and the finish in the Parque Ribalta are close to the city centre, and music groups line the course.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, so the dot moves only as well as that phone and its signal. Official results come from the organiser of the Marató bp Castelló.
