Around the end of the Jetty

The Busselton Jetty Swim is a 3.6 km swim around the Busselton Jetty in Western Australia, out along the Jetty, around its far end and back to the beach.

The 2027 weekend is Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 February. The swim began in 1996 with 82 swimmers, and today more than 5,500 people take part across the weekend. Entries for the main swims are drawn by ballot.

The signature 3.6 km solo starts on Sunday at 8:00 from the beach on the east side of the Jetty, in rolling waves, and finishes on the Busselton foreshore beach. Solo entries are closed for 2027. At 9:30 the One Mile Swim to Shore follows, where swimmers walk about 30 minutes to the end of the Jetty, jump in and swim 1.6 km back to the beach. Its entries are also closed.

Saturday afternoon belongs to the teams. At 13:25 the 500 m Shortcut Swim heads 200 m out along the Jetty, passes under it and comes back, and at 13:30 the team swims start over the full 3.6 km. Teams of four swim 0.9 km each and teams of two swim 1.8 km each, with a beach transition next to the Jetty.

The weekend also includes a concert, and the organiser streams the swim live. The programme with start lines and times is on the organiser's site.
