Black Forest ULTRA Bike Marathon, live.

Mountain bike marathon over the Feldberg

The Black Forest ULTRA Bike Marathon is a mountain bike marathon in Kirchzarten in the Black Forest, with four routes into the southern Black Forest and a round of the HERO UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup.

The race weekend runs from 23 to 25 July 2027, with the marathon itself on Sunday 25 July. In 2027 the race is part of the HERO UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup for the third year in a row, so the international marathon elite meets everyone who comes for a personal challenge. In 2026 the 26th edition drew close to 2,400 mountain bikers on four routes.

The ULTRA is the long one, 115 km and 3,550 m of climbing. It starts in the pedestrian zone of Kirchzarten, climbs to the Hinterwaldkopf, passes the Adlerschanze in Hinterzarten and crosses the Feldberg at the Seebuck, the highest point of the course at 1,375 m, before the steep Alpe de Fidlebrugg and the Schauinsland. The MARATHON starts in the same place and covers 70 km and 2,170 m.

The SPEED TRACK starts in Todtnauberg and covers 54 km and 1,230 m, and the SHORT TRACK starts at Hinterzarten station with 40 km and 850 m, more downhill than up. Riders on these two routes travel to the start by bus or train, and their bikes are carried by the organiser. E-bikes are not allowed on any of the four routes.

All routes finish in Kirchzarten, where the start and finish area, the expo and the Friday kids races make the whole weekend easy to follow for families. The Alpe de Fidlebrugg climb is a known party spot along the course.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Black Forest ULTRA Bike Marathon.
