Zurich Marató de Barcelona, live.

A flat, fast marathon through the heart of Barcelona

The Zurich Marató de Barcelona is the city's spring marathon, a fully urban 42.195 km course that starts on Passeig de Gràcia.

The next edition is on Sunday 14 March 2027. The race belongs to the Institut Barcelona Esports, the city's sports body, and RPM Sports runs it on the day. The 2026 edition drew a record turnout of 32,000 runners, and for 2027 the organiser opened a quota of 37,000 bibs. All of them were sold, and registration closed four and a half months before race day, so the start list is now set.

The course is 42.195 km and entirely urban. The organiser describes it as flat and fast, built so that the city passes under your feet while you chase a personal best. The start is on Passeig de Gràcia, and the route, the GPX file and the full map are published on the race website. Wheelchair athletes leave at 08:25 and the main field at 08:30, in staggered waves based on the pace given at registration.

There is an official limit of six hours, counted from the moment the last participant crosses the start line, and the race closes at 16:00. Entrants must be 18 on race day. Thirty-five pacers cover seven target times, from 2h45 to 4h30.

With the 2027 sell out the organiser calls it Spain's most popular marathon and ranks it among the top four marathons in Europe. In its own words, the route runs through the heart of a cosmopolitan, open and active city.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Zurich Marató de Barcelona.
