The organiser pitches it at runners going for their first ultra and at those who want to test themselves, and it is reserved for advanced mountain runners over 18. It starts in the night, and the organiser’s guide and website still give different start times, so check the final runner guide. Expect temperature changes, sharp turns and technical, low-grip passages.

The course shares its aid points with the 80K: Pampa Flores, Mirador, Prado and Cactáceas, with five hydration points in all, and its high point is 829 m on the organiser’s profile. The one time barrier is at km 17.5, near the base camp, with its time still to be confirmed. A headlamp of at least 500 lumens with spare batteries is mandatory, along with 1.5 litres of water in soft flasks, a collapsible cup, a thermal blanket and a whistle. Once the sun is up, around 06:00 by the organiser’s guide, the day turns hot and dry.
