Wegmans Wineglass Half Marathon

Wegmans Wineglass Half Marathon

The half starts at the marathon’s halfway point in Campbell and follows the second half of the full course into Corning, through small towns and along country roads. The organiser describes it as fast and flat, with an overall net elevation drop of 40 feet, so there is little to stop a runner holding an even pace to Market Street.

All half marathon runners take a bus to the start from Corning or Bath; those buses run from 4:45 to 6:30 a.m., and the last one leaves at 6:30. The time limit is 7 hours and the minimum age is 16. Every finisher receives the same hand-crafted glass medal as the marathon runners. The half starts 45 minutes before the full, and both fields share the road from Campbell to Corning.

That makes for a long morning if you are following one of each. On Livebib each runner shares a link to their own broadcast, opened in any browser with no account or app: position on the line, distance done and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. When the phone drops signal, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated. The runner chooses who can see it.
