A spring running weekend in the streets of Venlo

The Arrow Venloop turns Venlo into a running festival from 17 to 21 March 2027, its 20th edition, with the main races on Sunday 21 March.

There are three distances: the half marathon, the 10 km and the 5 km. The half marathon was already sold out when we checked, and from then on only participants with a sponsor code and teams of the Newtone Business Run could still enter it. The 10 km is open from age 16 and the 5 km from age 13, which makes the 5 km a good first race.

The organiser counts 25,000 participants over the weekend. Venlo lies in the Limburg border region, close to Germany, and on the Thursday of the weekend the Dynamic Night Event gives a first taste of Sunday. The organiser shows last year's routes until the 2027 courses are confirmed, so expect small changes.

The March date makes the half marathon a useful test for people preparing a spring marathon. Groups of friends and colleagues often pick different distances and meet afterwards in the city.

The organiser says the Arrow Venloop is known for its unforgettable atmosphere and a large, devoted crowd, and invites people living along the course, Joekskapellen, choirs and drum bands to sign up as official atmosphere points in the heart of Venlo.
