SKY - Baqueira Beret

The SKY starts high, at 1,845 metres on the Pla de Beret, and the organiser’s 900 metres of ascent take it higher still. The first climb reaches Vista Beret at 8 km, the route passes the Estanh de Baciver and the lakes of Clòt der Os, home to the second aid station, then goes through the Portilhon de Marimanha to the Tuc deth Dossau at 2,522 metres. From there it is the descent back to the finish on the Pla de Beret.

Two aid stations serve the course, at Vista Beret and Clòt der Os, and personal assistance is not allowed. The organiser points out that spectators can reach Clòt der Os by chairlift, which makes it the one place on the course where people can wait for a runner, with views of the Baqueira Beret ski area, the Pallars Sobirà and the Aneto massif.

For anyone not on the chairlift, a runner’s Livebib link shows the position on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate for Pla de Beret that updates as the race goes, in a browser with no account. Families at Clòt der Os can see when to expect their runner, and if the phone loses signal on the far side of the Dossau, the position continues along the course marked as estimated.
