Peades d'Aigua - PDA

The organiser calls the PDA an adventure through the mountains of Naut Aran, with 3,300 metres of ascent and around 3,700 of descent, and the reason to run it is Colomèrs, which they describe as the largest glacial lake cirque in the Pyrenees. The organiser also notes that it sells out every year.

From Salardú at 1,261 metres the course climbs past Banhs de Tredòs and Estanh Obago to the Còth de Pòdo at 2,591 metres, the high point, at 18 km. Colomèrs follows at 24 km, then the Tuc de Salana at 2,478, Mont-Romies and Arties at 40 km. The finish comes after one more climb, Santet Escunhau and the Tuc de Meddia at 2,220, and a descent to Vielha at 973 metres. Personal assistance is not allowed anywhere on the course.

With no crew allowed, the people waiting are in Vielha. A runner who shares a Livebib link lets them see the position on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes, in a browser with no account or app. Among the lakes the phone can lose signal; the position then moves on along the course marked as estimated, so the finish estimate keeps counting instead of freezing at Colomèrs.
