UTA100
A hundred and one kilometres and 4,400 metres of climbing, and the race that made Ultra-Trail Australia. The course drops off the escarpment on the Furber Steps, runs the valley floor past the Ruined Castle and the Golden Stairs, crosses to Queen Victoria Hospital and out along the fire trails, then comes back through the long, hot climb of the Kedumba Pass. The last two kilometres are the 951 steps back up to Scenic World, which is where the race is remembered from.
Twenty-eight hours is the limit, so the front of the field finishes in daylight and most of the rest climbs the steps in the dark. This page belongs to the 2027 running of the UTA100, with that year’s gun and course. On Livebib, family follow the runner through the valley with a live position, splits at every checkpoint and an arrival estimate for the finish line at the top.
