From Ollantaytambo to the main square of Cusco

Six trail races in the Andes of Cusco, and every one of them finishes in the city of Cusco. The 2026 edition was run on 27 and 28 June. The organiser has not yet published the date of the next one.

The 100K, called Pachak, leaves the main square of Ollantaytambo on Saturday afternoon, at 15:00 in 2026, and runs 102.4 km with 5,250 m of climbing to the main square of Cusco, partly on sections of the Qhapaq Ñan, the Inca road network. The time chart passes Socma at km 24.2, Urubamba at km 52, Umasbamba at km 75 and Puka Pukara at km 98, and the limit is 25 hours, so the finish closes on Sunday afternoon. There are eight aid stations and drop bags at km 25 and km 75. The organiser warns of many hours above 3,800 to 4,000 m and cold nights. Teams of four can run the same course as a relay.

The 50K starts at 04:00 on Sunday from the coliseum in Urubamba: 49.5 km and 2,535 m of climbing through Yucay, Racchi and Chinchero and past Laguna Piuray, with a cut-off at Umasbamba (km 25) and 12 hours to reach Cusco. The 25K (25.2 km, 1,097 m of climbing, 7 hours) and the 15K (16.2 km, 540 m, 5 hours) start at 07:30 from Puka Pukara, and the 5K Family Trail (5.3 km) at 08:00, with three hours to finish. The organiser advises arriving in Cusco three to four days before the start to acclimatise.

A 100K that starts in the afternoon runs through a whole night in the mountains, where the phone signal comes and goes. On Livebib the runner shares a link with whoever they choose. Family and friends open it in a browser, no app or account needed, and see the position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate for Cusco that updates as the race goes. When the signal drops, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated instead of freezing.
