The Great World Race Perth Marathon, Burswood

The third marathon is run at the West Australian Marathon Club in Burswood, Perth, on a path along the Swan River beneath Optus Stadium and Crown, with the city skyline across the water. The course is eight loops of 5.275 km, and the race is held in the evening, when cooler air should make for a pleasant run and the chance of fast times.

Every marathon of The Great World Race is a race of its own with a time limit of 8 hours, which the race director may change on location. The organiser says each course is measured by AIMS or World Athletics measurers and sanctioned by the national federation, with aid stations, medical support and official timing as at any stand alone marathon. A half marathon option exists for runners who prefer the shorter distance.

This page covers the Perth marathon of The Great World Race 2026. On Livebib, family and friends at home can follow a runner's position on the course, the distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes on. If the phone loses its signal, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated.
