63 km classic from Otepää to Elva

The Tartu Maraton is a ski marathon in South Estonia, a classic technique point to point race from Otepää to Elva.

The 2027 Tartu Maraton is held over the weekend of 26 to 28 February. Friday is race office and expo day at Lõunakeskus in Tartu, Saturday belongs to the free technique distances and Sunday to the classic races, with the main event finishing in Elva.

The long race is 63 km in classic technique from the Tehvandi Sport Centre in Otepää to Tartumaa Tervisespordikeskus in Elva. It goes off on Sunday 28 February in three groups, at 09:00, 09:10 and 09:20, sorted by bib number. The 31 km classic starts at the Arula crossroads at 12:30, with a second group at 12:40 for skiers who expect to need more than three hours, and also finishes in Elva.

Saturday 27 February has the 31 km free technique race from Arula at 11:00 and 11:10, the Tartu Maraton Vintage over 31 km at 10:00 and a relay over the same 31 km at 10:30. Children's races of 400 m, 1 km and 2 km are held at Tähtvere Sport Park in Tartu.

The finish in Elva is the place to be on Sunday. The fastest 63 km skiers are expected around 11:35, and the finish stays open until 19:00, so the arrivals go on all afternoon. The 63 km awards at 13:00 honour the six best women and men, the sprint winners and the age group winners.

On Livebib you can follow a skier who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from Tartu Maraton.
