Where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean
The 12th Swimrun Côte Vermeille International runs along the rocky coast between Cerbère and Argelès-sur-Mer on Saturday 12 June 2027, after bib collection and briefing on Friday 11 June.
Swimrun Côte Vermeille calls itself the first swimrun in France, and its 2027 edition is the 12th. Organised by Challenge 02 x Oryn, it holds a world stage as an ÖTILLÖ Merit race and draws around 1200 participants from 35 countries, with 320 volunteers and some 5000 spectators along the coast. The course links Cerbère, Banyuls-sur-Mer, Port-Vendres, Collioure and Argelès-sur-Mer, through Natura 2000 sites, the Cerbère Banyuls marine reserve and the Gulf of Lion marine park.
The finish area and the prize-giving are at the Esplanade Charles Trenet in Argelès-sur-Mer. The Ultra ÖTILLÖ starts at 06:30 at Cap Cerbère, below the solar lighthouse, and covers 63.3 km with 8.6 km of swimming and 54.7 km of running over 17 swims and 18 runs, with 2498 m of climbing. The Longue starts at Plage du Troc in Banyuls: 47.2 km, 6.9 km in the water and 1863 m of climbing. The Moyenne leaves Paulilles beach at 08:30 for 26.6 km with 738 m of climbing.
The Courte starts at 09:30 at Plage des Batteries in Collioure and covers 12.8 km with 2.1 km of swimming and 326 m of climbing. The Kids course, also at 09:30, is 4.1 km from Le Racou beach and open to young people who turn 12 during the year. Entry requires an FFTRI licence, either a valid 2027 competition licence or, for those without one, an FFTRI Licence Expérience taken out during registration. Registration opens on 19 November 2026 at 13:00.
Prize-givings follow the finishes through the day, from 10:30 for the Kids to 18:30 for the Ultra. On the Friday, bib collection, a round table with swimrun experts at 17:00 and the mandatory briefing all take place at Espace Jean Carrère in Argelès-sur-Mer, and the race is also streamed live.
On Livebib you can follow a participant live if they choose to share their own position from the phone they carry during the race. That position comes from the participant, not from the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
