Obstacle runs at the Weiherhof near Frankfurt

Strong Viking Obstacle Run Frankfurt takes place at the Weiherhof in Wächtersbach near Frankfurt, with obstacle runs from 4 to 42 km and the Ultra Viking.

The 2027 edition is on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 July, and Ultra Viking Germany comes to Frankfurt for the first time. The organiser calls the Weiherhof one of the most beautiful obstacle run locations, with water, mud and around 40 obstacles on the regular course.

Strong Viking offers five obstacle run distances: Beginning 4 km for newcomers, Lightning 7 km, Warrior 13 km, Beast 19 km and a full 42 km. There is also a 4 km Family Run where children from 5 years old take on child-friendly obstacles with their parents.

The Ultra Viking means more than 60 km and 135 obstacles in laps with a 10 hour limit. The laps are 19, 19, 13 and 7 km plus, each lap must start before its cut-off, and only those who finish the full 60 km in time receive the medal.

The obstacles are the reason people come back. From 13 km upwards the course includes the Fjord Drop, a 14 metre high water slide. Storm the Castle, the Mud Trenches, the Flying Ragnar trapeze swing into the water, the Hammer Banger and the Snake Bars test strength, nerve and teamwork, and the 2.5 metre wall has a lower variant for those who want it. Spectators are welcome, admission is free and the venue opens at 8:30, with stands and catering around the start and finish.

On Livebib you can follow a participant live if they choose to share their own position from the phone they carry. That position comes from the participant, not from the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
