Obstacles in Munich's Olympiapark

Spartan Munich is an obstacle race weekend in Munich's Olympiapark on 9 and 10 April 2027, built for the 1972 Summer Olympics.

Two distances are on offer. The Sprint, 5 km with 20 obstacles, runs on both days and includes a Night Sprint in the dark. The Super, 10 km, is on Saturday 10 April. Kids races of 1 to 3 km and a 4 hour Hurricane Heat complete the weekend.

The organiser pairs the urban with nature in a historic sporting venue. Mud, sand, fire, the Olympic Lake and climbs up the Olympic Hill, the highest point of the race, are among the highlights, and the stadium setting brings a real crowd atmosphere.

Munich is a good place for a first Spartan on the Sprint or Night Sprint, while regular racers can take on the Super. The Olympiapark sits inside the city, so a race weekend here needs no trip into the mountains.

Teams of friends, family or colleagues can register together, and volunteers get free entry to a race.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry on the course. That dot is the person's own sharing, not the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
