Eight lakes from Eksjö's old town

Sjöloppet Swimrun starts and finishes in Vattenledningsparken in central Eksjö on Sunday 20 June 2027, the weekend before midsummer, and links eight lakes in the Småland highlands.

Sjöloppet is a team swimrun that starts in Eksjö's old town and heads out on forest trails and through open water, passing eight lakes. The organiser's results go back to 2016, and from 2027 the race moves from Saturday to Sunday. The race centre is at Olsbergs arena next to the park, with changing rooms, showers, bag storage and free parking.

The 30 km Distansloppet measures 29.8 km, with 26.18 km of running and 3.62 km of swimming over 13 runs and 12 swims, and starts at 11:00. The 15 km Sprintloppet is 15.855 km with 1.34 km in the water over 6 swims and starts at 12:30. The 10 km Motionsloppet, added in 2025, starts at 13:15 from Ränneborgs idrottsplats about 3 km away and has 630 m of swimming over 4 swims. The family race at 09:30 is a short loop in the park with a 200 m swim.

The running mixes asphalt, gravel and forest trail, and the route crosses a railway, where any wait is timed by a marshal. Teams race in men's, women's and mixed classes, and the distance, sprint and motion races are open from age 18. Lifeguards and medical staff cover the whole course, with water and energy stations along the way.

Spectators can see the start and finish in Vattenledningsparken. The first elite teams are expected around 13:50, teams keep finishing until 15:30 and the prize-giving is at about 15:45. The evening ends with an after-party at Eksjö stadshotell.
