Lisbon's 10 km night run on the Avenida da Liberdade

The LIDL São Silvestre de Lisboa is a 10 km road race through central Lisbon on a late December evening, starting and finishing on the Avenida da Liberdade.

The 19th edition takes place on Saturday 26 December 2026, with the start at 21:30. There is one race, the Corrida 10 km, and registration is open. The race is organised by HMS Sports.

The race has been held since 2008 and, by the organisers' count, more than 161,000 athletes have taken part over its first 18 editions. The theme for 2026 is a Lisbon inspired by the poet Fernando Pessoa, under the motto that Lisbon runs to the rhythm of the capital.

The 10 km on city streets suits a wide range of people, from those finishing the year with a fast road race to those who simply want to run through the centre of Lisbon at night in a big field. Plan for an evening start in winter and dress for the cooler air before and after the race.

With the start and finish both on the Avenida da Liberdade, that is the obvious place for friends and family to watch the field go out and come home.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the organiser.
