Porto's autumn marathon, from SEA LIFE to the city park

The EDP Maratona do Porto is the city's November road race, with a marathon, a 10 km race and a 6 km walk on the same morning.

The 22nd edition is on Sunday 8 November 2026, and all three events start at 8:00. The race is organised by Runporto with the support of the Câmara Municipal do Porto and the Portuguese athletics federation, and the organiser says it has grown over 21 years into an event of national and international reference.

The marathon is 42.195 km and the EDP 10K is 10 km. Both start at SEA LIFE Porto and finish at the Queimódromo, next to the Parque da Cidade do Porto. The Mimosa APO 6K is a 6 km walk that is open to all ages and not competitive. The organiser publishes a course map for each race and a timing table for the marathon, in which the leaders pass 10 km around 8:31 and finish around 10:10.

The marathon has a limit of six hours, and the last runners are expected at the finish around 14:00. The 10K and the walk both have a two hour limit. Entrants in the marathon and the 10K must be 18 on race day, while the walk is open to all ages.

All three events start together at 8:00 at SEA LIFE Porto and end at the Queimódromo next to the city park. Registration is limited for every race, and the organiser offers last minute entries at the marathon expo for as long as places remain.
