NN Marathon Rotterdam, live.

The spring marathon over the Erasmusbrug

The NN Marathon Rotterdam is a weekend of road running in April, with the marathon on Sunday and shorter runs for everyone around it.

The 2027 marathon weekend is on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 April, and the organiser counts it as the 46th edition. The marathon itself is on Sunday 11 April. The organisers call it the fastest marathon in the Netherlands, and the course records back that up: Bashir Abdi ran 2:03:36 here in 2021, a European record at the time, and Tiki Gelana set the women's record of 2:18:58 in 2012.

The marathon starts at the foot of the Erasmusbrug and heads south to the Kop van Zuid, past Feijenoord Stadium and Ahoy, then back over the bridge and out to a loop around the Kralingse Plas. The last kilometres pass the Cube Houses and the Markthal before the finish on the Coolsingel. The course is flat city road and officially measured at 42.195 km.

Not everyone runs the full distance. The Kwart Marathon on Sunday covers 10.55 km on part of the marathon course, with a fast loop around the Kralingse Plas and the same finish on the Coolsingel, which makes it a good first city race. On Saturday there is a 4.2 km City Run, kids runs of 1 and 2.5 km, and walks of 5, 10 and 15 km.

The organisers speak of hundreds of thousands of spectators along the route, and the field crosses the Erasmusbrug twice. On the Coolsingel the crowd gives the runners a final push towards the finish and the medal. Expect closed roads in the centre on race day and allow extra time to get around.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the NN Marathon Rotterdam.
