Red Rock Challenge MTB 62 km Race

This page is about the 62 km MTB race in 2026. Unlike the tours and the gravel loops, it has a real start: 10:00, everyone together, behind a police escort. The organiser is clear that overtaking the escort means disqualification and that riders keep to their side of the road. The podium is at 13:30 and the race ends at 16:15.

The course is the 62 km MTB line through the forests of the southern nature reserves, with 880 m of climbing and four supply points: the National Mining Museum in Rumelange, the Italian quarter of Dudelange, Léifrächen and Fola. Police and volunteer marshals stand at the intersections, but the roads stay open to traffic, and the forest paths are shared with walkers and dogs. Riders must be at least 18. The same morning the 76 km marathon race, which is also the national XCM championship, starts at 10:00 too.

A race start at a known time makes the waiting easier, and a live line makes it better. The rider shares a link to their own Livebib broadcast; family open it in a browser, with no account or app, and see the position on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. Under the trees, when the phone loses signal, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated instead of freezing.
