525 km of Alpine passes in one push from Nauders

Race Across The Alps is a non-stop ultra road race that starts and finishes in Nauders and crosses the great passes of Italy, Switzerland and Austria in a single effort.

The 26th edition starts on Friday 25 June 2027 at 13:00 on the Postplatz in Nauders, at the Reschen Pass, and riders finish from 9:00 on Saturday 26 June at the Festwiese. The awards follow at 16:30 that afternoon. In 2027 the race also hosts the Austrian ultra solo championships for men and women.

The course measures about 525 km with 14,500 m of climbing, and riders must finish within 32 hours. Much of it follows roads known from the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de Suisse, among them the Stelvio, the Gavia Pass, the ski station at Aprica, the very steep Mortirolo, the Albula, the Flüela, the Umbrail and the Ofen Pass.

The field is limited to 50 long distance cyclists. Each rider has a crew in a support car with at least two licensed drivers, who must swap at the wheel after five hours at the latest. Feeding is allowed only from parking places and lay-bys, never from a moving car, and navigation is by GPS and the roadbook handed out at the compulsory briefing the day before.

For anyone coming to watch, everything happens in Nauders: the start on the Postplatz on Friday at 13:00, the finish area at the Festwiese from Saturday at 9:00 and the awards on the stage in the festival tent.
